Submissions
Are you a writer or an artist whose work experiments with its own recipe? Are you interested in combining art and literature? Are you aesthetically inclined toward the experimental, the conceptual or the avant-garde? If so, we’re seeking your contribution. We seek work that is the product of a new recipe, or work from an existing recipe compellingly redefined.
The works that interest us are able to combine disciplines and media, but here are some general submission categories. Please choose a category below that comes closest to describing your work.
Fiction and Narrative
We’re interested in fiction and other forms of narrative that are difficult to classify, but here are some classifications for example: constraint writing, text generation experiments, conceptual writing, narrative that employs appropriated text, etc. We are not interested in genre fiction, unless it exemplifies a radical departure from the genre. Please familiarize yourself with the size of our printed publication. Longer works may need to be excerpted in print and published in their entirety, online.
Poetry and Verse
We’re interested in new poetic forms as well as innovative use of existing or even obsolete forms, performative work, spoken word, visual poetry, sound poetry, flarf, constraint writing, text generation experiments or any other literary form experiments.
Essay, Criticism and Commentary
We’re interested in publishing informed commentary. Feel free to submit either a proposal, extract, or an entire work of criticism, discussion, manifesto, commentary or review. Also, if you have work of your own that you would like to submit for review, we’re interested.
Multimedia, Time-Based and Performative Work
On our website, we seek to publish works that cannot be published in print. This includes experimental music, net art, video art, nonlinear literature, fluxus scores, experimental dance and performance art. We’re most interested in publishing original work, but we’re also willing to blog about work that fits our style and scope.
Visual Art
We like to include all sorts of imagery in the publication: visual art, visual poetry, asemic writing, video, sculpture, illustration, collage, photography, experimental typography or graphic design, web comics,
