Pennies

I
across the room
you
across the room
me.

Chap stick on splitting plastic cups and
walking home with no sunglasses.

*

A lady bug
in thigh high polka dots
tumbles.

Though wakes
with bird nests in her hair and
raspberries above her
belly button

*

The fur
stood upright
due to it’s breath
quickening

A stutter.
pressing into blue jeans

There are gaps between his teeth
that turn pink from a cherry push pop.
A childish grin.

later he let her
chew
on his tongue.

*

The carrots in boiling water were
soft
fondled by the bubbles.

They almost broke apart,
but the ice,
stung them
to make the taste sweeter.

*

The earrings were lost twice.
First left and then
right

and then while searching
for socks
