Joshua Zerangue’s work primarily plays with the interrelationship between text and image through a variety of sources including 19th century French literature and old art history reproductions. Zerangue is interested in developing conversations between himself and subjects that are inherently biased in their limited accessibility to the artist. Through multiple research forms he seeks to connect unlikely sources within a structured environment that often confuses the relationships between sources. Zerangue Is currently living and working in Philadelphia and is also an MFA candidate at the University of Pennsylvania.
