Visual Poetry by Maximus

Maximus is an inventor of toys for children of all ages, dolls in particular; a sculptor; photographer; inventor; perfumer; chocolatier and writer. A self-described synestetic and futurist, Maximus is the author of these visual poems.

These visual poems are a synesthesia in art experiment. The artist refers to them as “Lazar doll- brain wave patterns” intended to be an exercise the right side of the viewer’s brain, to encourage creativity. Hidden within these texts are the instructions for making perfumes, and for advancing through the ascending levels of the brain puzzle game that they describe. Often, these texts are composed as mirror writing and in a variety of other modes of handwriting. They were created with a fine point ball pen, along with markers, pastels, watercolors, Japanese inks and pens, colored pencils and other materials.
