Release Party

To celebrate the publication of the inaugural issue of Infinity’s Kitchen, there was an opening held at the Metro Gallery on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

Here are some pictures taken during the event.

Here is a run-down of the performances.

Facts

Facts is a two piece band, with guitars and deceptively simple, but very clever lyrics.

Baltimore’s Slam Poets

The opening featured performances by local slam poets from Baltimore’s SLAMicide venue. Among them, Chris August, who ranked number 7 in the world at the 2005 Individual World Poetry Slam.

The opening also featured recording artists LIGO and Polyphasic, two groups on the Magnanimous Records label.

Polyphasic

The ambient duo known as Polyphasic uses found sounds and digital editing to create surreal music. This video is from their newest multimedia album entitled “See Plan.”

LIGO

LIGO is a seven-piece band that employs flute, synthesizers, guitars, bass, cello, marimba and glockenspiel to create an acoustic, experimental sound.

Infinity’s Kitchen is an independent publication of experimental writing and art. The first issue, which will be available at the opening for the first time, contains poetry, short fiction, artwork and essays from 10 contributors, but we’re hoping to get more artists (and longer issues) coming out every two months. www.infinityskitchen.com is the online component of the publication. Anyone interested in contributing written, visual, or performance art for publication in the second issue is encouraged to attend the event.

The Metro Gallery is located at 1700 North Charles St. in Baltimore, MD.
