Ancient Baby

'ancient baby' experiments within the emerging ecopoetic tradition

In terms of content, “ancient baby” experiments within the emerging ecopoetic tradition. It uses a disrupted site to provide access points for the body to experience language. Without field work, this sequence of poems would not exist.

In terms of form, “ancient baby” experiments with combining the text with image and sound. As a poet working within the ecopoetic aesthetic, the author often finds that an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper is not a large enough container for the experience of the poem. Just as the body grows restless, so does the poem.

This piece attempts to bring a lived experience to the reader through an activation of senses that are typically disengaged while reading a more conventional format.
